<p>A 1200 calorie diet healthy breakfast will include one wheat bread with low fat butter or a cup of cereal with a boiled egg and one small fruit. The exchange food system provides information about food content from which you can easily estimate calories in any food. It also helps to maintain the balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats throughout the day. Before developing diet plans you must know your nutritional requirement in terms of calories, then select the food from exchange list and plan your daily meal according to your calorie requirement.</p>
<p>The exchange system contains six different lists of foods and food from each exchange group is well defined so that one serving of each food contains the same amount of carbohydrates, proteins, and fat. These groups are starch/bread, vegetables, fruit, milk, meat and fat. From each food list a certain number of exchange choices are allowed, but amount and type of these exchanges are based on a daily exercise, insulin injections, blood pressure and body weight. The food substitution can be done only within an exchange list but not between lists even if they have the same calorie count. In the exchange lists some foods are free; these foods contain less than 20 calories per serving.</p>
<p>In 1200 calorie diet you can include per day five exchanges of starch/bread exchange group, two exchanges of vegetable group, three exchanges of fruit group, two exchanges of milk group, four exchanges of meat and three exchanges of fat group. Each exchange of starch/bread group contains 80 calories. In vegetable exchange group each group contains 5 grams of proteins, 5 grams of carbohydrates and 2 grams of fiber. In fruit exchange group each exchange contains about 60 calories. For a diabetic 1200 calorie diet avoid artificially sweetened milk and include skim or very low-fat milk and milk substitutes. When you choose meat remove the fat before cooking. You can include high fat meat exchanges maximum three times a week. Include fat exchange in very small amount. In this calorie diet avoid saturated and Trans fatty acid instead of that choose polyunsaturated or monounsaturated fats.</p>

<p>A calorie controlled, healthy weekly diet meal plan is the one and only way that you will reach your weight loss goal. Take note of the word &quot;goal&quot;, which the first dictionary entry explains as &quot;the result or achievement toward which effort is directed&quot;. See this, understand this, and you will lose weight. Going on fad diets, which prescribe to you what to eat will never work.</p>
<p>When we speak of a calorie controlled diet, that means adjusting your calorie intake, to be below your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), which is the rate at which your body burns calories each day, including calories burned at rest and calories burned during activity.</p>
<p>The first step therefore, is to determine the calories that your body burns. This depends on various factors (such as your age, your height, current body weight and your level of activity), and can be done with any one of a number of calorie calculators which you may find on line, or by using a simple formula. First you determine your basal metabolic rate (BMR) which is the rate at which your body burns calories at rest. The Harris Benedict equation is the most popular:</p>
<ul>
<li>Men: BMR = 66 &#43 (13.7 x weight in kilograms) &#43 (5 x height in cm) &#8211; (6.8 x age in yrs)</li>
<li>Women: BMR = 655 &#43 (9.6 x weight in kilograms) &#43 (1.8 x height in cm) &#8211; (4.7 x age in yrs)</li>
</ul>
<p>You then take your BMR, and multiply it with an activity factor, to determine your TDEE: Sedentary (BMR X 1.2); Lightly active (BMR X 1.375); Moderately Active (BMR X 1.55); Very active (BMR X 1.725) or Extremely Active (BMR X 1.9). The final answer is the amount of calories that you need, per day, to sustain your current weight.</p>
<p>The second step is to create the calorie deficit. The deficit that you create will depend on various factors too, depending at which rate you want to lose weight, and also how many calories you can afford to cut, without going to low (if you go too low, your body will retaliate and hold on to its fat stores for dear life, by slowing down your metabolism). As a general rule, women should not go below 1200 calories per day, and men not below 1800 calories per day.</p>
<p>To lose weight at a rate of 1 pound per week, you need to create a calorie deficit of 3500 calories per week (3500 calories in a pound of body fat), or 500 calories per day. Multiple 500 calories for each pound of fat that you have set out in your goal, to lose each week.</p>
<p>The third step in creating your diet meal plan, is to put this on paper. What I have done for myself, is I created an excel spreadsheet, dividing it into 4 broad columns, each column containing sub columns as follows:</p>
<p>The first broad column contains 3 sub columns (Food item, food group and number of portions); the second column contains 2 sub columns (Food weight in Imperial and Metric units); the third column contains two sub columns (calories in one column and kilojoules in the next column, per weight of food); and the final broad column contains 3 sub columns (weights in grams of Protein, Carbohydrate and Fats). This may seem complicated, but put it on paper and you will see how easy it is.</p>
<p>The next thing which I did with this excel spreadsheet meal plan, was to create formulas, in the rows at the bottom of each of the six daily meals, and also at the bottom of the entire daily meal plan, which allows all my totals (calories, proteins, carbohydrates and fats), to be automatically calculated, as I add individual food items. This makes it so easy and simple, once you have done it. The meal plan does all the calculations for you.</p>
<p>The fourth step is to add your favorite foods to the meal plan. It takes only a simple session of research at an on line database, and fill out the food items, gram weight and nutritional information. Once you have done this, you will have a clear idea of where and how to adjust your meal plan, to be in sync with your calorie needs, as determined in steps 1 and 2.</p>
<p>The fifth, and final step is to create a formula right at the bottom of the meal plan, which will automatically calculate your macro nutrient ratios (ratio of calories from proteins, carbohydrates and fats). A good baseline to start from is 50% Carbohydrates, 30% Proteins and 20% Fats. This is not that important though, the most important is the total calories. remember that proteins and carbohydrates contain 4 calories each, per gram, and fats contain 9 calories per gram.</p>
<p>Once you have just one solid meal plan, for only one day in place, it becomes a breeze to adjust it and to create new ones, for each day of the week, each week of the month and each month of the year.</p>
<p>Remember how we said that a goal is &quot;the result or achievement toward which effort is directed&quot;? This meal plan will take you to where you want to be. And creating it is as easy as it was for me to write this article. You just need to sit down and write the first paragraph, with the intention to write the last one.</p>

<p>You may be surprised to read about the 2 fattening foods I&#8217;m writing about in this article. The popular opinion is that these foods are healthy, but you should strongly consider eliminating them from your abs diet plan.</p>
<p>We all know how bad trans fat and high fructose corn syrup are for our health, so I will not waste your time discussing these&#8230; Instead, I would like to point a spot light on a couple of foods that may be increasing your body fat.</p>
<p>The food that is often wrongly assumed to be healthy is wheat. We are talking about pasta, breads, bagels, etc. This category of foods that produce fat also includes whole wheat.</p>
<p>A lot of people have some form of intolerance to the gluten in wheat. Celiacs are the most sensitive, but most of the population was never meant to eat large portions of wheat. As humans, our digestive systems have not evolved to handle high quantities of wheat in our diet, which in part explains why obesity rates are so high these days.</p>
<p>Humans started eating wheat a couple thousand years ago, but it is only in the last 100 years or so that we started to consume it in large quantities. This is a small amount of time when you consider that our digestive systems have been developing for hundreds of thousands of years. As hunter-gatherers, our diets were high in vegetables, fruits, nuts and meats.</p>
<p>A decision to eliminate wheat from your diet can yield nice results in just 2-3 weeks. You will feel better and you will find it easier to lose weight. In addition to burning fat, you may also experience fewer bouts of indigestion, headaches or even skin problems.</p>
<p>Another example of fattening foods that many people believe to be healthy is fruit juice.</p>
<p>Now don&#8217;t get me wrong&#8230; most fruits are very healthy for us. Provided, of course, that we eat the fruit as a whole. However, drinking just the high calorie juice without the benefits of the other components of the fruit like fiber, is bad for us.</p>
<p>When we only drink the juice our appetites are not satisfied. The fiber in fruit helps slow the rise of blood sugar and reduces craving.</p>
<p>By drinking too much fruit juice we actually make ourselves fatter. Instead of getting your fruit mainly from juice, focus on eating whole fruits. This will give you high nutrient density and a healthy balance to your abs diet plan.</p>

<p>A teenage diet plan is not too much different from an adults diet plan but there are a few things to consider. Teenagers are still in the growing process early on and it could be vital that they get enough needed nutrients in their diet like Calcium, fiber etc. In this article I will go over a few things you should consider if your a teenager while dieting. <p>So what do I need as a teenager to stay healthy?</p>
<p>Any teenager needs to make sure they get a fruits, vegetables, water, milk and lean meats into their diet. This is important because they are still in the growing stage and a growing body should have these types of minerals/vitamins. Now with that being said a  teenage diet plan does not have to have all of these everyday. Instead having this only a few times a week will be fine, because milk can be fattening itself. I also suggest you look into skim milk as its lower fat and healthier for you.</p>
<p>Perhaps the most important foods teenagers should eat are fresh fruits and veggies. This is important because they are full of antioxidants and other healthy substances. But lets get into how frequent teenagers should eat these types of foods. Its also ok to eat a little junk food from time to time, but try to make this few and far in between.</p>
<p>You need to make sure you eat at least 3-6 times per day because this raises your metabolism and actually helps to burn fat. Increase your exercise also and any healthy teenager should start seeing some weight loss. Make sure the meals you eat are no higher than 400 calories each except for one big meal which can be up to 700 calories. Of course if your active in sports your body may demand more, but this is for teenagers who only run say a half mile per day or less.</p>
<p>When your young your metabolism is often higher and it takes less to lose weight. So if you follow these guidelines you will see some weight loss. I hope this article has helped you and I wish you luck in finding the perfect teenage diet plan for you.</p>

<p>1. What a three day diet is?</p>
<p>A three day diet is a plan for all those people who want to shed their extra pounds quickly. Do not stick to this diet for more than 3 days as it might be damaging for your health. This plan does not provide you with all the nutrients but it is effective in quick weight loss.</p>
<p>2. What does it do?</p>
<p>The plan is designed such as to limit your calorie consumption for 3 days. Remember not to extend the diet over 3 days and return to your normal diet soon afterwards but do not start overeating. The constituents of the diet affect your digestive system in such a way that your metabolism is enhanced and your fat is burnt faster than the normal rate.</p>
<p>3. Aftermaths of the plan</p>
<p>No doubt it is a quick way to shedding your weight but firstly it does not provide you with all the nutrients and secondly you regain your lost weight very soon afterwards. You lost weight due to lack of calories and your energy levels become quite low. When you resume your normal diet, you start regaining weight. Instead; to protect itself from starvation your body starts storing your fat cells.</p>
<p>4. Features of the three day diet plan</p>
<p>Drink 4 glasses of water for these 3 days and for flavor you may add salt, lemon juice, soya sauce, vinegar, ketchup or mustard in your food.</p>
<p>First day take tea, a slice of toast with 1 tablespoon peanut butter and juice in breakfast. Have tea, a slice of toast and tuna for your lunch and an apple, 3 oz meat or chicken and a cup of carrots, green beans and vanilla ice cream each for dinner.</p>
<p>On day 2 for breakfast take a slice of toast, a banana, tea/coffee and an egg. Have 6 saltine crackers and half cup of tuna for lunch and for dinner take 2 beef franks, half banana and half cup of vanilla ice cream, broccoli and carrots each.</p>
<p>3rd day eat an apple, 1 oz cheddar cheese, 5 saltine crackers and have tea/coffee. Have tea/coffee, a slice of toast and boiled egg for your lunch and eat half cup of carrots, tuna, cauliflower, melon and ice cream each in dinner.</p>

<p>Water</p>
<p>The body&#8217;s water content decreases as its becomes older, which is reason why the elderly often suffer from dehydration. The elderly should bear this point in mind and regularly drink at least an ounce of water for every 2.2 pounds of body weight.</p>
<p>Protein</p>
<p>Protein is essential for the elderly. They need it to maintain a healthy immune system and to prevent muscles from wasting away. At the same time, they do not need that much of energy. Foods such as eggs, chicken, meat, and fish, which are low-fat sources of proteins, are very much essential for the elderly.</p>
<p>Carbohydrates and Fiber</p>
<p>The entire body obtains its energy from carbohydrates. Bread, pasta, cereals, and other grains are rich in carbohydrates. You can prevent constipation by taking a diet that is rich in water and fiber.</p>
<p>Fat</p>
<p>The diet of older people should be low in fat, not fat free. You can limit your fat intake by including lean meat and low-fat diary products. As far as possible, do not fry your food in oil.</p>
<p>Iron</p>
<p>Iron deficiency is common among elderly people who do not eat much. Such people should eat plenty of breakfast cereal or red meat.</p>
<p>Zinc</p>
<p>Elderly bodies find it difficult to assimilate zinc. You should take fish, poultry, and meat in order to satisfy the zinc requirements of your body.</p>
<p>Calcium</p>
<p>Most elderly people hardly get enough of calcium. The elderly require at least 1,500 mg of calcium per day.</p>
<p>Many of the elderly avoid drinking milk out of fear that it might upset their digestive processes. If you are averse to milk, you could use nonfat milk powder instead of milk. You can also obtain the calcium you require from foods such as low-fat cheese, broccoli, and yogurt.</p>
<p>Vitamin B12</p>
<p>Vitamin B12 is usually absorbed by an intrinsic factor in the stomach. Many of the elderly suffer from Vitamin B12 deficiency because they suffer from atrophic gastritis, a medical condition characterized by inflammation of the walls of the stomach, growth of bacteria, and lack of the intrinsic factor that is responsible for the absorption of this vitamin into the system.</p>
<p>The elderly need each of the above nutritive elements to keep themselves in a healthy condition. The elderly should be as active as possible and take a good balanced diet. The elderly body may not be what it once used to be; this does not mean you have a reason to neglect it. You should take enough nutrition to enjoy a long and healthy life.</p>
